Just a lil chair make over

I bought these chairs the summer we moved into our house (approx 8 yrs ago) The sun had faded them so much they were headed to the dump. They looked pretty pitiful, not bright red anymore but a faded pinkish color....nothing a little pray paint can't cure! I love them again and it cost me less than $5 to bring them back to life! So glad I didn't throw them out.

Family fun day

Nanny wanted to go to Morganton for her birthday....it was the perfect day. The weather was awesome, good food, good times!

Going for a hike

On the way home we saw this - perfect day!

My terrific kid

Layton received the "terrific kid" award again for the 2nd 9 weeks. He got it the first semester too....he's our little all star, couldn't be prouder of him!

A few more bedroom re-dos

I think this was a candle holder.

Now it's a ball holder.
Candle holder $.50
Wicker ball $1.50 @ Hobby Lobby

Ugly vase from the dollar store

I'm still not in love with it....it may have to go soon!

Goodwill frame transformation

I took it apart, added a red frame for a punch of color, re painted the black and the frame then put it all back together again. Now it's in our bedroom.

Ky's room make-over

Ok so a couple days before Christmas I'm in Hobby Lobby looking at fabric. I find some really awesome fabric on the clearance rack for less than $2 a yard. (that's a steal, wait til ya see it, pretty awesome!) I'm thinking "hey this would make a really awesome skirt for Ky for Christmas" Well, first of all I don't sew and second it was DAYS before Christmas like I had time to learn or have my grandmother help me make it....anyway, not sure what I was thinking! On the way home I had the brilliant idea to re-do Ky's room using this fabric as my inspiration. So in a matter of about an hour I went from making Kylin a skirt to re-doing her whole room!!

Her closet.
These curtains were the only "new" thing I bought for her room. I actually thought about making them too but I found them for $15. I couldn't buy enough fabric to make them for that price.

She already had all this hanging up I just "tweaked" it a little. Changed the paper in the frames from "little girl" to "wild child" I distressed the frames, just sanded them a little, and changed the ribbon holding the pics around the frames. And just a side note I don't know why frames always look like they are hanging crooked....they look fine in person!

Again her name was already there, just a little tweaking.

I wish I had a before pic. These were just pink flowers so instead of buying something new I just glued little pieces of ribbon all around them. I also switched the old ribbon holding the letters to black.

Words above her attic door

So here it is....here's the fabric that started it all!! I still have yet to get the curtains made....I'm waiting on inspiration to hit me, I wanna do something funky.

All these (except the big black one) were already in her room I just recovered them.

This was pretty much the "theme" of her old bedroom.

Just added a little funky flower in the corner

The best part - this whole room make-over cost me less than $60.

Tray for Ky's room

I got this at a thrift store for 50 cents....didn't really know what I was gonna do with it but how could I not buy it for that cheap!

I decided to take it apart to paint it so I could really get it good. Took all of 30 seconds to take it apart and paint it. EASY!

Covered the bottom in paper then mod-podged it

Final product - I likey!

Ky's door "thing"

I started with this paper overlay thing from AcMoore.

Added some zebra paper behind it and used another one of those awesome dollar store square frames. Painted the frame black and layered both pieces of paper. Hot glued them to the frame.
The middle hot pink ball is a foam ball cut in half then I used tissue paper crumbled up and pinned to the ball.

I like it! Funky!
