9/11 ~ 10 years later

Ky watching a TV special about the 9/11 attacks. Everyone remembers where they were that day, what they were doing, who they were with....we will never forget that day! I was working at the Hallmark Shoppe in downtown Lincolnton. One of my friends that worked down the street came into the store and said that a plane had just hit the WTC. We turned on the radio and listened to the events of that day. We would take turns going upstairs and watching it on TV. People were coming in all day (and the following weeks) asking if we sold American flags. I remember going home that day and watching TV all night, as the country tried to figure out what was going on.

Today I will try to explain to my children what happened that day. I bought several newspapers on 9/12 and the following days because I knew someday I would want my kids to see them.

Isle Of Palms

Isle of Palms is a great  beach, very clean and family friendly! It's about 10 mins from Charleston.
While we were in Charleston we decided to take the kids to the beach....apparently everyone else had the same idea!!

My sweet girl having a blast

My handsome little man loving the ocean!

Joey looking a lot like a tourist!!

Great day at the beach....after our trip to Charleston and the surrounding areas, and Oak Island we decided Myrtle Beach is OUT....there are so many nicer beaches!

People ask me if all we do is travel....well, lately it seems like it!! I LOVE to travel, although I have a 4 hour max, if it's further than 4 hours away I'm not going or I'm flying!
A couple months ago I was talking with a woman in the rest home, she told me she would love to go out west but she can't now due to health problems and just not being able to walk that well. I told her I love to travel with my family and she said "honey GO, travel all the time, see the world, you'll never regret it. You don't want to look back when you're my age and realize all the place you wish you could've gone.....just GO, spend time with your family while you are young!" I'm definitely taking her advice!! haha
