Kylin got her ears pierced Tuesday night!! I know a lot of people let their daughters get their ears pierced WAY before they are 6 years old but for Joey and I decided we wanted to Kylin to make the decision for herself, to fully understand it, and to be able to take care of them before we would let her get them pierced.
We had all agreed that when she turned 7 we would take her for her birthday. But Monday night out of the blue I asked her if she'd like to get them done this week since she's going to be in a wedding next weekend and I thought earrings would be cute. She was THRILLED, more excited than I thought she'd be. I fully expected her to say she didn't really want to get them done.
In the car on the way to the mall she ask me every 22 seconds if we were there yet, she was excited let me tell ya!
So we get to the mall, she gets in the chair, picks out her studs, and then BAM it hits me - My baby isn't a baby anymore!
I was okay with dropping her off to 1st grade last week, no biggie, I'm okay with her being a big girl but something about her getting her ears pierced is hard to deal with. I guess because it's something that we've never considered, it was just one of those things that we would not do until she was ready and well she was ready!
Next thing you know we'll be dealing with make up and boys and hanging out with friends all the time.....ugh!
